The Lake Hotel Killarney reopened for the season on Thursday 29th January and in keeping with tradition, the new season marked the unveiling of new developments at the award-winning four-star property. Each year, the Huggard family invest in the enhancement of the hotel and are highly committed to maintaining a high standard for their guests.
Over the past number of weeks, the hotel’s winter projects have included the refurbishment of their reception area, the revamp of 15 bedrooms and various soft refurbishments throughout the property. Other recent winter projects have included the unveiling of the Lake Thermal Suite as well as the refurbishment of the hotel’s restaurant and bistro areas.
The Lake Hotel’s reception area has been transformed with lavish interiors that resonate with its breathtaking surroundings. Rich forest green wallpaper, cream panelling, ambient lighting and plush curtains create a warm atmosphere for guests as soon as they walk through the hotel foyer; the serene tones throughout ensure a relaxing and inviting ambience.
The hotel’s bedroom renovations include complete refurbishments and expansion of some rooms, unveiling larger family rooms with luxurious interiors and picture-perfect lake views. Incorporating tones and colour palettes that reflect the natural backdrop of the beautiful lakeshore landscape.
The Lake Hotel annual refurbishments are overseen by Louise and Ailish at Hal-Lou Furnishings, their approach to interiors keep classic details front and centre, always honouring the hotel’s original character and its enduring old-world charm, while introducing modern comforts that feel natural, resulting in spaces that are both timeless and quietly contemporary.
