Introducing Executive Head Chef Daniel Glavin at The Lake Hotel

The Lake Hotel proudly introduce Daniel Glavin, who was appointed Executive Head Chef earlier this year. Overseeing the kitchen teams for The Castlelough Restaurant and The Lakeside Bistro, Daniel brings over 15 years of culinary expertise to The Lake Hotel. With a passion for innovation, precision and elevated dining, Daniel has redefined the hotel’s dining experience and has had a superbly successful first season.

As the seasons change, Daniel continues to launch menus inspired by the very best of regional produce. His latest Autumn/Winter offerings highlight rich flavours and meticulous craftsmanship.

 “My style of cookery is classical Irish with a modern flair. Kerry offers some of the best ingredients in the country and it’s a privilege to showcase them at The Lake Hotel” says Chef Glavin.

Daniel trained in Culinary Arts at CIT before embarking on an impressive career that has seen him work in some of the most prestigious kitchens both nationally and internationally. His early professional journey took him to Australia, where he worked at the exclusive Daydream Island Resort. He later moved to the United States, taking on roles in Palm Beach and in the elite members-only Admirals Cove. After gaining invaluable international experience, Daniel returned to Ireland, working in esteemed establishments including the Maryborough Hotel, before making Killarney his home.

With a wealth of experience, blending exceptional local ingredients with international flair, Chef Glavin infuses his kitchen with creativity and confidence. Focused, collaborative and passionate about mentorship, Daniel is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of culinary talent. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence ensure memorable dining experiences for every guest.
