Do you have a swimming pool? We do not have a swimming pool at The Lake Hotel however, there are pay as you go options nearby. The Lake Hotel has an outdoor hot tub, steam room, sauna and fitness centre.
How long does it take to walk to town from the hotel? The Lake Hotel is a 20 minute walk from Killarney town centre or a 5 minute drive.
Do you have free parking? Yes, car parking is free and we also have car charging ports.
Do you have a kids club/activities for kids? We do not have a kids club however we have a Fairy Trail and, as we are surrounded by National park, there are a wide variety of family activities on our doorstep. For our family activity recommendations click here.
What are your check in and check out times? Check in is 4pm and check out is 12 noon.
How long does it take to get from the hotel to the airport? We recommend you allow the following drive time to allow for traffic or any delays;
Shannon – 2.5 hours. Dublin – 4 hours. Cork – 2 hours. Kerry – 30 minutes.
Is there public transport available from each of the airports? We recommend the following modes of public transport from each airport;
Dublin – aircoach to Heuston Station and then train to Killarney. Cork – Bus/Train. Shannon – hiring a car or hiring a driver. Kerry - Taxi.
Do activities need to be organised before arrival? We advise all day trips, kayaking, horse riding etc to be prebooked. Jaunting carts can be organised at the hotel up to 9am the morning of each trip.
Early check in policy? None at the moment due to Covid19.
Late check out policy? Currently not available due to Covid.
Does The Lake Hotel cater for weddings? We do not host weddings at The Lake Hotel however, we would like to assist with information on alternatives venues, and hope that this would be of help to you:
In close proximity to The Lake Hotel are two hotels which cater for weddings. The Killarney Oaks is a family owned and run 4* Hotel located directly across the road from us. Their website is www.killarneyoaks.com. The Muckross Park Hotel is a 5* Hotel which is also located nearby to The Lake Hotel. Their website is www.muckrosspark.com. For more intimate weddings, The Cahernane House Hotel is a nearby Manor House Hotel offering exclusive weddings, if you would like to privately hire the Manor House for your special day. What are the opening times for the bistro and main restaurant? Our Lakeside bistro serves food from 12 – 9.30pm daily. Our Castlelough Restaurant serves food from 6 – 9pm.
What time is room service available? Our room service menu is available from 12pm -9.30pm daily.
What hours does the fitness centre operate? Our fitness centre opens from 8am – 8pm in the summer months and 8am – 7pm in the shoulder season.
Do guests need to prebook treatments? Yes, we would highly recommend for treatments to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
Is it possible to book couples massages? We only have one treatment room at The Lake Hotel so unfortunately, couples massage is not an option.
What adapters are needed for rooms? Our sockets are European/suitable for 3 pin plugs.
Do you have high speed internet connection? We have recently upgraded our internet speed to 100 mgs.
Do you have Netflix? We do not have Netflix on our televisions in guests bedrooms.
Do you store bikes? Yes, we have space for bike storage.
Do you rent bikes? Bike hire is available across the road from the hotel and the daily rate is €15.
Do all rooms have air conditioning? Not all rooms have air conditioning but fans are available on request.
Do you have computer facilities available for guests? Yes, we have computer and printing facilities available in the hotel library.
Do you have a drying room? Yes, we have a drying room facility available for guests use, located on the second floor.
Can non residents book afternoon tea? Yes, we would be delighted to take afternoon tea bookings and our afternoon tea menu may be viewed here.
Can boat tours be organised from the castle ruins? This is on request and is subject to availability, seasonality and group size.
Is your outdoor hot tub currently open and are there restrictions? Our outdoor hot tub is open and as per government guidelines, we advise no more than 2 people or one household group occupy the hot tub at any given time.
Do you have a Covid19 policy/safety statement? We certainly do, our Lake Care Policy is our pledge to you that your safety and the safety of our colleagues is paramount to us.
